This is a true story... Update with photos

I swear I am not making it up.

As some of you know we are moving which is why I've been MIA. Yesterday we had the bulk of our stuff moved and it was a long, hard day.

Zorro was overly tired and so amped up, we couldn't get to sleep. I asked D to take Z for a drive to get him to sleep because I was doing some stuff still but he said he was too tired. I was seriously pissed so I grabbed my keys and left.

Grinding my teeth and thinking very mean things, I drove around and Z still wasn't falling asleep. I happened to find myself exactly by a friend's house who had things for us to pick up which she left outside. So I had unintentionally made the trip worth while.

On the way back I saw the light go on for my tire. At first I just thought it was the pressure so I didn't think about it until I heard that nasty popped tire noise and realized I needed to pull over.
I panicked because in my fury, I left my phone at home as well as my AAA card. I rode my car as far as I could until I knew it was over, making it within about 4 miles from my house.
The tire the following day

Sitting in my car with the hazards on for about 10 min, I tried to figure out what my course of action would be. Meanwhile, 2 cop cars passed my by along with another 20 other cars. Finally I realized help wasn't going to come to me so I rolled into a near by parking lot where a lady on foot in ignored my attempted to ask for help even when I had a 2 year old with me.

I cried for about a minute because I knew what I had to do and it wasn't going to be pretty. I was scared for our safety but I KNEW this was the only option.

So at 2 am I set my bare feet on the asphalt picked up my son and carried him 3-4 miles home in my robe with no belt.

Yet another cop car passed me by. And cars sped up instead of stopped. Granted it was 2 am but 3 cops???

FOR THE RECORD, IF YOU SEE A WOMAN (WHO HAPPENS TO LOOK PRETTY DARN YOUNG AS IT IS) WALKING AT 2 AM BAREFOOT WITH A ROBE ON CARRYING A TODDLER, SHORT OF BEING CRAZY, SHE'S PROBABLY IN DISTRESS AND NEEDS HELP.

Who knows if I would have accepted help. I was so scared and praying every second of the way that I wasn't telling Zorro to stay quiet, he was scared of spiders. Or practically crying because my back was breaking and my arms shaking from carrying Zorro.

I felt like a fugitive combing the streets in the dark of the night. Looking and listening all sides to make sure we weren't being followed.

We made it home safely. Thank God. THANK GOD!

My feet are raw with blisters and the true skin is exposed in parts. I better have lost those 6 lbs I gained when I was sick in bed for 3 weeks!

Don't tell me you didn't wonder how my feet really looked..
I softened it and desaturated it to save you from the yuck!

*Just a note to let you know D felt horrible! No guilt trips or anger toward him. We are safe and that's all that matters!*

I don't know what to say except that I'm glad you are and Zorro are fine. Unbelievable that no one even attempted to stop and help. Well, then again I do believe it.

I hope you heal quickly.

I'm not even going to ask if your husband is still alive. haha

Crazy! I can't believe that your DH didn't set out to look for you. It's sad that people are so unwilling to offer help to strangers nowadays. I sure am glad that you got home safely.

Wow--I hope your feet feel better soon and that you get a new tire/get yours plugged!

are you OK??? i hope your husband felt at least a tinge of guilt for not helping you- i think you deserve at least 4 hours of foot rubs (an hour per mile walked)
the thought comes to my mind... "what a mommy will do for her child"
i will be sure to take my phone with me next time I am driving alone in the middle of the night!

PLEASE READ!!!

I JUST WANT TO BE CLEAR THAT MY HUSBAND LOVES & ADORES ME.
THE ONLY REASON HE WASNT OUT SEARCHING WAS BECAUSE WE HAVE 1 CAR.
IT ALSO TAKES A WHILE SOMETIMES TO GET Z TO SLEEP SO IT WASNT A HUGE CONCERN THAT IT WAS TAKING ME A WHILE.

don't worry DH LOVES me!!! :)

OH my goodness gracious! Ouch! It sort of reminds me of the parable of the Good Samaritan. The policeman were too "busy."
I'm glad you made it home and safe.

Bless your heart! I cannot believe none of the police officers stopped to ask if you needed assistance! That makes me so mad! I'm so glad you and your wee one are safe!
