Field Trip - Balboa Island Ferry

BALBOA ISLAND FERRY

I have long wanted to take Zorro across on the Balboa Island Ferry but we just never did. I finally did it and I don't know who was more excited, me or Zorro. We ended up bring the first car is so we got a PERFECT view of the whole ride across to Balboa Island. Next time we are going to take a passenger ferry FUN!

To ride across it cost $1 per adult and $.50 per child

we went on the ferry last time we were down there! all the kids wanted to do was play in the arcades on the boardwalk though!

I love going on the ferry with the kids. When I was little the only way to get to New Jersey from PA was to take the ferry--so much a fun part of the trip. That doesn't happen often nowadays, so I love when I can find a ferry ride for them.

My goodness, that brings back the memories. I grew up in Costa Mesa (yay CMHS!) and we used to go down and ride across on the ferry and hang around in the Fun Zone and check out all the cute guys. I haven't been back down that way in about 10 years.

How fun, we don't have anything like that here in boring Oklahoma!

I just read a great article in Sunset about Balboa Island and it so made me regret not stopping by when we had a chance. Can't wait to hear how the ferry ride goes!
