Kid Trip- Bolsa Chica Conservancy

"The Bolsa Chica Conservancy is a non-profit, non-political organization established to ensure the preservation, restoration, and enhancement of the Bolsa Chica Wetlands in Huntington Beach, CA."

For Earth Week, I wanted to focus our time and energy on things that will help or our helping our planet. I've passed by the Conservancy many times but never actually took the time to go and walk around.
Since it is Spring, it is particularly beautiful right now in a wetlands kind of way. The water is gorgeous with a full view of the ocean and birds flying freely everywhere. In fact, if you didn't already catch it, in the logo, Bolsa Chica Conservancy is the place to go for bird watching.

This is the place to go for a great nature walk, bird watching (print out the birder's list!), a picnic.
For homeschoolers, budding birdwatchers or crafty fellows, you can make a lapbook with some of the more common birds found there and take it with you to see if you find them! Don't forget to check out the Interpretive Center and think about lending a hand in the efforts to keep Bolsa Chica safe and clean for the birdies!
