KID TRIP! Pacific Marine Mammal Recovery Center

Pacific Marine Mammal Recovery Center

interactive
 tourTheir Mission Statement:
"Pacific Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine mammals stranded along the Orange County coastline and to increase public awareness of the marine environment through education and research."

For a quick trip  this is the place to go. It's a very small facility but worth checking out ESPECIALLY at feeding time! Kid will really like watching that. The seals and sea lions go CRAZY!

There's a few things to look at while you are there and a small gift shop. There is also at least one person there to answer any questions you or or kids may have.

Just remember that the sea lions and seals are behind fences and there's no real interaction with them, just viewing. Also remember this is a REHAB facility. They rescue these guys nurse them back to health and then set them back out into the wild...WHICH YOU CAN GO WATCH AS WELL! And I plan to!

Lastly, You can donate to help feed the fish! When you do you can write your name on a fishy which they put up on the fence. It's fun for the kids to do and a great way for them to experience giving back.
