Tot School- Such is Life

Well this week I was feeling much worse than last week and we didn't do much I'm sad to say. Zorro was dying to do lots and lots of things but I just wasn't up to it. Poor little guy.

We started off the week by going on a field trip. I hope to make field trips a weekly thing. Let's see if I can stick with it.

Our field trip this week was the Santa Ana Zoo. For more info photos and info about our zoo trip click here or on the zoo banner.

ACTIVITY COST: Adults $7, Children 3 and up $4 -Parking FREE

Let Zorro play outside as I try to do daily and we started by watering the plants. That turned into a mud fest with Z and the neighbor kids. They had SOOO much fun..2 hours of mud madness.

Zorro poured water from bowl to bowl. He LOVES doing this. This can keep him entertained for a LONG time. We do this when I am in the kitchen cooking and cleaning.

ACTIVITY COST: FREE

After the zoo, Z was way into animals. We read Curious George Goes To The Zoo a million times.

BOOK COST: $3.95 - I used a 30% off coupon from Borders. If you aren't signed up for Border's Rewards program you should! They send out coupons I think weekly from 20-40% and sometimes more. Unlike Barnes and Noble this program is FREE to join!

Zorro was using the Do-A-Dot paints to color an eagle. He loved the Eagle at the zoo so we picked that picture out especially to remind him of that.

ACTIVITY COST: $14 for the paints at Michael's (Less if you use the 40% off coupon),
$1 for the coloring book at the Dollar Tree

Zorro wanted to play with the Alpha Train Puzzle again. He really likes this a lot. We went about putting it together a little differently this time than we did last time. I left them all in a heap face up and I said, "find the letter A -then made a sound- apple." It was really good because he was able to identify some of the letters and sounds as well as animals this way. He did a great job finding most of the letters/animals.

ACTIVITY COST: FREE for us but you can find this Alpha Train Puzzle online.

Zorro helped make his own breakfast

Had some quiet reading time

And helped make his cookie cutter lunch! He even picked the flower he wanted. We were going for a sprint theme this week.

Zorro made me really happy when out of nowhere we were sitting down at the table and he grabbed a strawberry to give to D and said, "1 strawberry" then grabbed another and said, "2 strawberries for daddy." HE IS LISTENING TO ME!!!
