CRAFTivities- Cars

C is for CAR

We did this coloring page
**********************************
Scripture/Story: Isaiah 40:31 (NASB-my translation preference)
"Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary."

It was really hard to pick a Scripture this week since there are so many scriptures about cars. :)
I thought this would be appropriate.

For this he just repeated the scripture after me and we read together.

**********************************
We used several coloring pages from
First School

CAR/Transportation PUZZLE
Activity Cost $3
(Target)

He is so into this puzzle! Every day he has woken up and gone straight over to it! He does it surprisingly well. He's much more patient with it than I thought he would be.
*You can also print a car puzzle, laminate it and cut it at First School*
It's meant to do online but it works well and a print out too.

***********************************
TP ROLL CAR CRAFT
Activity Cost $3 or less
Most items you can find at home or substitute for items at home

TOOLS: TP Roll, Black card stock, white paper, buttons, pipe cleaner, markers, glue, scissors

I figure I don't need to explain how to do this since its so simple you can just see from the pic.
I will say though that for the TP roll I cut the shape out just on the front and back part but left the top middle part alone. My goal with this was to add a bit of texture.
Do I need to tell you that he loves it?

**********************************
PT ROLL STOP LIGHT CRAFT
Activity Cost: $3

Tools: PT roll, red, yellow and green foam, black construction paper, cardboard piece cut into rectangle, tape, glue, scissors

Z walks around with it saying, "STOP CAR!"

Valerie had a GREAT idea to do with a stoplight craft..Play Red Light Green Light!
Here a link from Preschool Post (I think this is one of many amazing sites) it's a safety theme with lots of activities and crafts that you can incorporate with a car theme or one of several others!

BOOK PICNIC

I got this idea form No Time For Flash Cards & The Whipples
After our trip to the library we went straight home pulled out the blanket, got some ice cream and read all the books we got that day. I try to make Mondays our library day and I'd like to add the picnic to the day as well indoor or outdoor. It's a great way to introduce the theme.

Ceramic Car Painting
Activity Cost: $1
Micheal's

**********************************
Car Wash Sensory Tub
Activity Cost: Free

TOOLS: Tub, toy cars, dish soap, water, scrubbers/sponges etc...

**********************************
Dirve Thru Car Wash
Activity Cost: $3-5

I took Z through a Drive Thru Car Wash. I thought it would be fun for him. I used to LOVE it when I was a kid. I was actually going to take him to one where he could watch it go through but then I'd have to clean out my car. Laziness won.

Ongoing Blanket Craft
Activity Cost: $2.50

This is the material he picked out.

Transportation Crayons

I saw someone selling something like these and thought they were way cool! I spent way too long looking up how to make them (UGH!) but I found that No Time For Flash Cards did this even with the same molds I used. She has a great tutorial on hoe to do it. I wont tell you how I did it because I don't want to be responsible for you starting a fire in your home!

Thanks for linking us and letting me know! We haven't had a picnic outside yet, but we've been having pretend ones inside. No food yet...she has a blast just pretending. We have had a few more book parties, but it's all about the books for her. Isn't that awesome!?

Your car craftitivies are awesome! Thanks for sharing! I think we're going to try trains this week.

Hey, there is one place a car is mentioned in the Bible. Acts 2 says they were all in one accord! :)
