Mix & Match Your Skin Care Products

Christy of

SUPERHEROES AND PRINCESSES

Asked the following question regarding skin care and product:

"I would love to know what kind of skin care products you recommend. I currently use Origins for my sensitive skin and I'm pretty happy with it for the time being but I get bored with skin care products and don't typically stick with the same line for very long. Is that bad?"

I will eventually be getting into product selection and I will talk about some that I recommend. Off the top of my head I can tell you there are a few products I love by Dermalogica, SkinCeuticals, Aveda, and I actually like a few products from Orgins as well. But remember this is my personal opinion. EXPERIENCE is what is going to tell you what's best. I can look at ingredients and say YES! That sounds great! Then use it and it's not so great or the opposite. I would love to try out many more lines particularly for that reason. I am always on the look out for new products and especially organic and/or non toxic ones although I use and recommend any type.

I am not married to any particular line. I think it's more than OK to mix and match. No skin is alike and no line can cover everyone's needs. Don't get stuck in the product line trap and think that everything has to match...You don't have to buy only one line and you don't have to buy only one "skin type" in a line. It's all about finding what fits your needs.

It's perfectly fine to jump around with your skin care products if you have normal skin. You might reconsider changing things up entirely though because you don't want to cause problems either. If you know a whole line is horrible then check out of that ASAP! If you are not unhappy with a line but aren't jumping for joy either, start by changing up one product at a time.

If you just get bored, changing one product at a time might actually keep things more exciting. You won't get bored because you know next month you'll be getting that awesome new whatever you saw in a magazine. You might decide to ditch the old moisturizer in favor of the new one or you might decide you really like that boring line's moisturizer more than you thought...maybe this time you'll try a new exfoliator.

IF YOU HAVE A PRDUCT RECOMENDATION SHARE IT WITH ME! I'D LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU USE AND WHY YOU LIKE IT!

We got a Honda Civic. Since it will primarily be my husband's car, and that's the one he liked.

One of the products I always have in my cosmetic bag is a non-nanoparticle clear zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is the one sunscreen ingredient that is considered safe around the globe. (Many of the sunscreens available in the U.S. contain toxic ingredients that were banned years ago in other countries!).

We all know toxic chemicals are not good for health, and now esearch is showing a buildup of toxins on the skin causes acne.

Since the verdict is still out on whether or not nanaoparticles are harmful, ind a non-namoparticle clear zinc oxide sunscreen and protect yourself from sun AND pimples!
