My 28th Year- WINNING MYSELF BACK!

Some of you know I have been talking about "medical issues" etc. Here's a bit of an explanation of what's going on, but I am leaving out all of the details and other issues related otherwise you'd be reading a book. You get the idea though. If you have questions feel free to ask. :)

If you really want to know about me, this is it!
**********************
For my 28th year, I have quite the line up of Dr's for all that ails me. lol
Not encouraging considering my young age. Here's a line up of Dr's for appointments from now until Christmas:

Urologist: For Interstitial Cystitis

Audiologist: For hearing stuff to be referred to ENT *Just went and she rec. HEARING AIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll explain that one later.

Ophthalmologist (not Optometrist): See Neurologist

Neurologist: for my fake brain tumor- yes there is such thing! (AKA Psuedo Tumor Cerebrei)

ENT: for well, ENT ha ha. Appointment is next week thanks you an amazing audiologist who went out of her way to help me! Now lets pray I can find a babysitter!!!!!!

Plus a few nurse and PCP visits for the "Other fun stuff"

I KNOW! You don't have to tell me what you're thinking!

Other fun stuff includes:
  • Vaginal Hernia (yup..need I say more?)
  • Tested in on cusp of norm/pre diabetic!!! - HELLO WAKE UP CALL This was my call to ACTION!
  • Depression/Anxiety
  • Newest Diagnosis: IBS
  • Encapsulation & PAIN on one of my breast implants. (YES! I REALLY DO HAVE THEM!)
I'm sure I can find you a few more but now this is getting boring...

So you see, not the best scenario for someone who has taken control of their weight and health once in their life only to lose control again! Not the best scenario for any 28 year old!

So to start off my 28th year with a boom and I resolved to make BIG changes.
My Cousin (Unky Few) Offered to take Zorro for me for the weekend so D & I could have some time alone.

And on MY DAY I chose to "take a hike."

In the summer heat

Hike 1,000 feet and 3 miles UP UP UUUUUUUUUP!

I did it, it was hard. Very, VERY hard. What once I could have ran up I had to stop to take breaths at!
I DID IT THOUGH! And felt empowered to make this new change in my life.

Changes:
  • Being more active in general
  • FACE the GYM yet again!
  • Eating Healthier
  • Feeding my family healthier foods
  • Limiting internet (aka BLOGGING TIME, Commenting time, etc...!)
  • and the the details that go along with it
So for those of you that have wondered why you haven't seen me leaving comments as much or blogging as much, it's because I am working very hard at taking care of my health and my family!

I still read your blogs daily from my phone. I can access them on my phone and read them but leaving comments is usually reserved for the 2-3 days a week that I happen to be on the comp. I'm still here, I'm still reading and I am still posting but I am taking care of myself first.

So here's to a year of BIG changes! And a happier, healthier me!

PS Since my Bday (August 15th) I have lost 15 lbs
*I will be posting lifestyle updates

Congrats on your 15 lbs! What a huge accomplishment that is. I'm hoping you will share some of what you have done to reach that achievement? Also, will be praying for your different health issues-that all will be well and resolved.

Hey girl, heck YES to you and your 15 lbs - that's awesome! I am giving you total props for dealing with all these things and for making changes where you see fit. Did your depression/anxiety kick in after you had your baby? Mine didn't kick in until after I had Kaylee - I swear the hormones have just whacked me out for good. :)

I'm beginning to think of the approximately 2 week period in August starting with the 12th and ending with the 25th as "The week of my friend's birthdays," yes it isn't just a week, but yours makes the 4th birthday in that time frame.
Wow, that is a lot of medical problems to sort through. If it was at all possible I'd drive to California and give you a big hug, and we'd go out for a girl's night, and they guys could sit and stare at each other.
But, since I can't do that, I'll just send you imaginary hugs through the internet.

I have some issues that I keep putting on the back burner because I am so busy with everything else in my life...I hope soon I can get your strength and say...its time to fix me!
Congratulations on the 15 pounds...that is amazing!

Oh sweetie pie I am sorry to hear you've been going through so much! It can definitely be scary to get a wake up call from the doctor. I just got back some real exciting results and found out I know also have to watch my cholesterol. It's no fun being 32 and having a laundry list of medical issues cause I'm not prediabetic I AM diabetic. So that goes hand in hand with high blood pressure and now the prehigh cholesterol. Yipee! I've been jumping back on the eliptical more myself these days!

I hope that it will be the year of healthier and happier you. I have more than a decade of you and, believe me, it's important to take good care of yourself while young.

I've been meaning to comment on this post for days....please forgive my delay.

Great job on the 15 pounds! I'm so proud of you for taking control of your health. I need to take a lesson from you....

Oh my goodness. Good luck with all of this. And, losing 15 pounds? Way to go.

You are so smart to take control now, while you are young. It only gets harder with age.

I am proud of you for making yourself a priority. I need to be reminded of this myself. It is very easy to get so involved with being mom and wife that you can lose a part of yourself.

Keep it up! Can't wait to hear how things go. You are inspirational.
