ITTY-BITTY BOOKWORM - Apples

We had a pretty light week this last week. We followed the ITTY-BITTY BOOKWORM CURRICULUM only and had a FABULOUS time doing it!

I have to tell you one thing I love about it is the variety of projects and skills are so great! And as someone who has NEVER been a teacher, I appreciate the way it's spelled out for me and helps to recognize with ease what areas we need to work on more and where he's really getting it.

Here is a little of what we did:

We worked on Big & Little/sequencing- Zorro has got that concept down no problem. We're adding in Medium this next week. Then more sequencing.

We worked on Counting- Zorro can count to 12 no prob. After that he needs coaching.

We worked on Number recognition- Ya, we have a Loooooooooot of work for that. :) Ironically we went on a little hike and at the half mile sign (.5) he ran up to it and said  "Five!" D and I were blown away. We tried again later...no luck. HA! Oh well.

We worked on cutting straight lines and shapes-I am very, very surprised how WELL he is doing! We definately need lots more cutting practice but doing great!

We worked on Patterns- Didn't go so well.

We worked on Alphabet- You know how much he loves that...NOT

He painted with apples and fingers to his hearts content!

This last activity is our take on a IBB activity.

We made a multi-colored apple tree. I will also post this separately.

Love the adorable apple tree activity.

It is wonderful how you have been able to assess his skills so thoroughly!

He is so cute. It's funny how different kids love or hate different things. My kids LOVE alphabet activities, but one of my friend's has a son that will scream and yell if you even talk to him about letters - and he is four! I think your son is doing GREAT!

I also find my kids could count to 12 pretty easily and then after that it got harder to teach them...hmmm
Love the tree!

He's doing good Kristi!

I love how easily the curriculum explains/lays out everything too. Makes it much easier on me!
